Special Needs: Franklin doesn’t have any special needs and is a healthy and happy little mini, he has no known history of laminitis which is always a big plus for these tiny ones.

Adoption Fee: $250 this is to help cover the many costs associated with rehabilitating our horses

Franklin is a very friendly and gentle little man, he arrived to us as a very highly strung and underweight stallion who was struggling to handle being around other horses, after 12 months of being a gelding he is finally a relaxed and super happy little pony.

Franklin is a charming miniature paint (now) gelding with a big heart wrapped in a small body. While he isn’t suitable for riding, he has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion once he knows his humans. 

He’s a very playful little guy who would thrive in a herd environment with other friends, particularly other little minis to play zoomies and bitey face with. 

He can be a little cautious at first, but once he feels safe, Franklin will offer his full heart to the right person. He is easy to catch and handle on the ground and responds well to calm, consistent attention. He does need ongoing work with having his feet picked up, so an experienced or patient handler would be ideal to help him build confidence in this area. I am currently working on positive reinforcement with his hoof pickup and can trim all four feet after a lot of patience (and carrots to help reinforce positive behaviour!) His main issues are around confidence, he is quite fearful with his hooves being picked up so he just needs a lot of reassurance.

Franklin is looking for a kind and understanding home where he can continue to come out of his shell and be loved for the wonderful little man he is

Preference will be given to applicants who live close by so Franklin wouldn’t have to travel a long distance, however, we can adopt interstate for the right home. Transport can also be arranged through Elysian Fields Sanctuary if required.
